If you want a silent, useless air cleaner, go buy an overpriced oreck or brighter image unit. It is able to reduce things want smoke and tiny, tiny particles, but forget it getting rid of dust. I know, I had one. If you want a unit who in reality “Filters” the air, buy this. Sure on Medium or High this unit can add background noise, but on low, it is certainly not noticable if it’s not right then to you. We noticed an immediate “crisp feel” to the air and huge reduction in dust in the air. My cough of 3 weeks is gone overnight. Coincidence.. I be certain not. Don’t read into the reviews the present bash the noise.. Noise shows it’s working.

I don’t have another air cleaner to compare this to so my words may not be of much help. I bought right now air cleaner used and I’m very happy with it. It’s not too loud, I can sleep with it on that much on medium. It absolutely works, especially when I’ve blown out a bunch of scented candles and the room is filled with smoke. The smoke hangs in the room until I turn the air cleaner on then it’s gone in how seems like minutes. I have asthma, cats, dogs and birds, and my alergies don’t seem to bother me much at all since I have had such a air cleaner.
